How to Disable Reels on Instagram
Instagram Reels is a popular feature that allows users to create and share short, entertaining videos. However, some users may find the feature intrusive or unnecessary, and would prefer to disable it. If you’re one of those users, here’s a step-by-step guide on how to disable Reels on Instagram.
Step 1: Open the Instagram App
First, open the Instagram app on your smartphone. Make sure you are logged in to your account.
Step 2: Go to Your Profile
Tap on the profile icon at the bottom right corner of the screen to navigate to your profile page.
Step 3: Access Settings
Once you are on your profile page, tap on the three horizontal lines (hamburger menu) at the top right corner of the screen. This will open a menu with various options.
Step 4: Select “Settings”
Scroll down the menu and tap on “Settings.” This will open a new page with various settings options.
Step 5: Choose “Privacy and Security”
In the settings menu, tap on “Privacy and Security.” This section contains options related to your account’s privacy and security settings.
Step 6: Select “Disable Reels”
Scroll down the privacy and security menu and tap on “Disable Reels.” This option will prevent you from seeing Reels in your feed and will hide the Reels feature from your profile.
Step 7: Confirm the Change
A confirmation message will appear, asking if you’re sure you want to disable Reels. Tap on “Yes” to confirm the change.
Step 8: Reboot the App
After confirming the change, close the Instagram app and reopen it. This will ensure that the changes take effect immediately.
Now you have successfully disabled Reels on Instagram. You will no longer see Reels in your feed, and the feature will be hidden from your profile. If you ever decide to enable Reels again, simply follow the same steps and select “Enable Reels” instead of “Disable Reels.
